If you were to put a 16.5 volt 8 amp solar module with a 17.2 volt 7 amp panel wired in parallel, you will get 15 amps at 16.5 volts. If you were to wire the same two solar modules in series it would add voltage so you would have 33.7 volts but would only have 7 amps. You lose amps when you wire in series and you lose volts wired in parallel. If you have an 8 amp solar panel hooked to a 7 amp panel, the 7 amp is the bottle neck. You can not push 8 amps of current through an opening that was made for 7 amps. So that is why you would have 7 amps at 33.7 volts. Really there is more to it but that is the simple way to put it. These two solar modules will not match at all in parallel or series. You would need a charge controller for each.
